Claritin

Claritin is an antihistamine.

Claritin may be described as a white to off – white powder, which dissolves easily in Acetone, Alcohol and Chloroform but is completely insoluble in water.

Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Take loratadine exactly as directed.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

drowsiness
nervousness (in children)
dry mouth
headache
tiredness
unusual restlessness(in children)

Sometimes, Claritin may even cause Insomnia, Anxiety, psychomotor impairment, urinary retention, gastrointestinal disturbances, convulsions and blurred vision.

Claritin may even cause extrapyramidal effects, confusion, lower back pain, tremors, Arrhythmias and severe depression.

Moreover, Claritin may even cause Palpitations, Bronchospasm, Angioedema, Anaphylaxis, severe skin rashes, photosensitivity reactions and blood disorders.

Claritin may even cause Angle – Closure Glaucoma, troubled breathing, Diarrhea, heartburn, abdominal discomfort and vomiting.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Claritin interacts with various medications, such as, Pseudoephedrine, Erythromycin, Cimetidine (Tagamet) and Ketoconazole (Nizoral).

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :

asthma
kidney disease
liver disease

It is very important for the patient to know that before consuming Claritin they must inform their health care professional if they have ever had a history of or are currently suffering from Renal Impairment, Epilepsy or Phenylketonuria (PKU).

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Loratadine is used to relieve hay fever and allergy symptoms.

Claritin is also used to help treat patients’ colds, allergies and severe itching sensations. Moreover, Claritin is also used to help treat patients’ runny noses, watery eyes and incessant sneezing. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.

Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
